Superior to Participate in Nebraska “Community Strengths” Project

Officials from the City of Superior and the Superior Development Corporation will participating in a statewide initiative designed to measure how well Nebraska communities measure up in nine categories known to be important to individuals seeking out new communities.

Researchers at the University of Nebraska at Kearney are working with Hollman Media, LLC of Kearney to lead the project. Superior is one of 26 participating Nebraska communities. . . .Continue reading or Take Survey Already!

Leadership Community

Superior is proud to be one of only eight Nebraska Department of Economic Development's Leadership Communities. These designations recognize communities that have demonstrated an exceptional capacity to identify development goals and strategies; take advantage of technology to meet objectives; institute solid planning and implementation processes; combined local, state and federal resources to achieve those goals; and accomplished positive impact projects over a long term. 2016 Showcase Community Award Winner

The National Community Development Association initiated National Community Development Week in 1986. This annual campaign is designed to give local as well as national attention on the numerous outstanding accomplishments over the past 40 years of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The State of Nebraska and the Nebraska Department of Economic Development annually celebrate this national event by designating communities with high achievement in community and economic development as Showcase Communities.
